Engine install kit, nose gear strut (final) | 11.5.2020 - 11.6.2020

We received our engine install kit from Velocity! The kids were jazzed about the packing peanuts. Spot Henry trying to eat one in the picture.

Also received the roll pin for the co-pilot's safety lock, so installed that and finished the door hardware up on that side.

We had previously sent off the two nose gear struts to have the springs swapped, but Velocity just sent me a new one. In a later conversation with Scott, he said he looked at them and said I'd be much happier with a new model strut, so he tossed a new one in the box and threw the old ones out. Velocity's awesome.

Got the new strut installed and began to fit the new steel captivator before it got too late and we called it a night.

Shiny new strut, installed for the 10th(?) and hopefully final time.

On the 6th, the captivator was filed slightly to fit and the nose gear now snaps over center perfectly. Re-connected all gear system components and swung the gear a bunch. Everything works as expected now. Should have just gotten a new strut sooner. :/

I also received the bearing grease from AC Spruce and attempted to pack the bearing by hand, but the design of the bearing doesn't really allow for it. Will need to buy a bearing packer.
