Fuel vent system | 9.11.2020
I completed the install (editor's note: so I thought) of the fuel vent system. Each tank has a single vent line. The Stabells had completed most of the plumbing, but some lines still needed bending, flaring, and connecting. The vent line out the bottom of the plane also needed to be fabricated completely.
On the ceiling in the picture below, you'll see a triangular fresh air plenum. This is fed by a NACA scoop on the fuselage and supplies fresh air to the cabin through vents (yet to be drilled). Since it takes in air, it can also take in water and need to have a drain attached. Both the fuel system vent and the fresh air drain line can be seen in the middle of the picture running vertically. The fresh air line was glassed to the plenum at the top, and both lines were glassed out the bottom of the plane, with the fuel vent in front.
(Editor's note: don't run your fuel vent and fresh air vent like above. The gear will hit it (barely) when you finally swing the gear, and you'll have to move things later.)
